Ozzy Osbourne Inducted Into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Special Guest
The air was buzzing in Cleveland this past weekend as many celebrities made their way to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction this year. One of the highly anticipated segments of the night was the induction of longtime rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who was seated on a throne perfectly suited for the Prince of Darkness himself.
Jack Black was there to give a speech about Osbourne’s accomplishments, mixing humor in as he screamed about Osbourne’s achievements throughout the years. Osbourne shared his gratitude for the award and shouted out his wife Sharon, his children and grandchildren, and his late guitarist Randy Rhoads, who passed away in a plane crash in 1982.
To honor the star, several other guests made their way to the stage to perform some of his greatest hits. Tool’s Maynard James Keenan performed one of Osbourne’s most popular songs “Crazy Train” backed by the late Eddie Van Halen‘s son Wolfgang Van Halen, Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Andrew Watt and Adam Wakeman.
Up-and-comer Jelly Roll teamed up with Zakk Wylde for “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Wylde stayed onstage as Billy Idol came out and sang “No More Tears.” Both Osbourne and Black looked on and mouthed along with the words.
This is actually Osbourne’s second induction, as he was previously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his band Black Sabbath in 2006. If you missed the induction ceremony, you can watch it on Disney+ and Hulu. The other inductees were Mary J. Blige, Cher, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Matthews Band.
