Leif Garrett Posts for the First Time in Years on Facebook… But Is It Really Him?
Leif Garrett was one of the biggest teen idols of all time. However, in recent decades, he has become somewhat of a recluse after having drug and legal issues. So, it came as somewhat of a shock and thrill when his official Facebook page shared its first new update in over two years, but it has many fans (and us here at ReMIND Magazine) wondering if it is really Leif.
The post reads, “Hello dear friends. It’s been a while. For the past 12+ years I’ve been busy taking care of mom and dad. It was the hardest job I’ve ever done. It was 24/7 and thankless, but I did it because it was the right thing to do, and what I would want my kids to do for me. I just wish my sisters would’ve helped out at least once. Now that I’ve taken a little time to decompress, it’s time for me to reinvent and downsize. I have an overwhelming amount of stuff, including memorabilia and many things they both passed down to me. I’m keeping the items that matter most to me, but need to part with the rest.”

It continues, “My friend Tim Lee, with our new company Merch and Memorabilia Services, is helping me with the process. Feel free to check it out if you’re curious. I’m looking forward to being in touch more often through social media. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued love and support. It means the world to me. Leif.”
While many fans shared their condolences, some were quick to question its validity, even questioning if his page had been hacked.
How many sisters does Leif Garrett have?
The post reads: “I just wish my sisters would’ve helped.” So who are his sisters? Fans know that Leif has one sister, Dawn Lyn, who starred in My Three Sons, who was hospitalized and extremely sick in 2022. Fans questioned how with Dawn being so sick (she had brain surgery to reduce a non-malignant tumor and was in a coma caused by bacterial meningitis) she could have helped with their parents? Perhaps he was referencing years prior? While extremely private, Leif did post in 2022, thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers and asking to respect their privacy. Many did for the last few years until this new post surfaced. Also confusing about the post and being questioned by fans is the plural “sisters” — what other sister is he referring to? Was this a typo?

Does Leif Garrett have children?
The post also mentions children, and while Leif may be keeping kids private, it is currently unknown if he has any.
Who is Leif Garrett’s publicist?
We began to dig into the story, emailing the PR rep who is listed on his Facebook page and asking to chat on the phone, also requesting an interview.
“Leif isn’t doing any interviews at the moment … and no — his Facebook hasn’t been hacked,” shares a Barbara Papageorge, from RSN Entertainment. “There aren’t any inconsistencies in Leif’s FB post.”
We asked Barbara to get on the phone for just five minutes to answer a call, but she claimed she was in meetings all morning and was now heading to the airport and has not returned any calls.
We then tried a really old phone number we had for Leif and had an extremely odd phone exchange. We shared that with Barbara, who told us via email: “I just spoke with Leif and he confirmed that he has not spoken to anyone this morning. So you called someone pretending to be Leif.”

What is this alleged new merchandise site of Leif Garrett?
We also discovered that while it appeared Leif was commenting back to several fans and asking for a direct message, it led to a completely different unofficial account. Also a newly created page started posting memorabilia for sale looks suspicious. Whether it is fake or real, with today’s artificial intelligence and so many scams going on, we can only suggest you be cautious with entering any of your personal information into a site that no one can validate.
