Michael Myers is coming back. Fans of the Halloween movie franchise are in for another scare, as the movies are getting the television treatment. An official Halloween television series is currently in development and Miramax’s Head Of Worldwide Television Marc Helwig shared some news.

Helwig said, “We’re on a fast track, it’s a big priority for us. We’ve had lots of exciting conversations in recent months with a number of really talented people, and I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of what we’re going to be doing very soon. We’re hoping to lock down the creative team very soon.” While he was pretty tight-lipped on the plot, he did confirm that the series would not continue from the end of the films.

He added, “The foundation of it is the original film, the John Carpenter movie, the characters of that film, and perhaps a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on that much in recent film versions or even in a number of them. It’s a creative reset completely and going back to the original film, as opposed to spinning out of any of the more recent film adaptations.”

As of now, Helwig or the studio has not yet shared who will star in the new series or when it may premiere. The final movie, Halloween Ends, premiered in 2022. Despite rough reviews of the final films, Halloween is still a beloved franchise for horror movie fans and the series is likely to do well, especially if it can be finalized by the Halloween season.

Are you excited to see Michael Myers return or do you wish studios would come up with more original ideas? We are very curious to see who will be cast in the new TV series! Stay tuned for more details.
