On Monday, March 27, 2023, Weigel Broadcasting Co.’s over-the-air national broadcast network DECADES, which has been home to classic TV series of various genres, is being given what is described as a “focused, fresh and fun rebrand” to become Catchy Comedy, which will exclusively be devoted to comedy seven days a week, drawing its programming from a deep library of classic sitcoms.

Weekdays in daytime on Catchy Comedy will highlight female-driven series and the influential women of TV comedy, from Lucille Ball to Mary Tyler Moore to Carol Burnett and more.

Legendary Norman Lear favorites take center stage weeknights during the “Norman Lear’s Catchy Classics” programming block, featuring Good Times, Sanford and Son and All In the Family.

Smart comedies anchor late night Monday-Friday in the “Smart and Catchy Sitcoms” block, which presents some of the best written and wittiest TV comedies, including the original Night Court, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Cheers, Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart.

On weekends, “The Catchy Binge” offers a chance for viewers to binge their favorite sitcoms and classic comedies with a marathon of a different series featured each weekend.

“Catchy Comedy is a celebration of the very best in classic television comedy and will showcase and celebrate a who’s who of funny women and TV legends,” says Neal Sabin, vice-chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co.

“We are excited to bring an all-comedy approach with this exciting rebrand of DECADES evolving into Catchy Comedy.”
