Star Trek icon William Shatner opened up about fighting stage 4 cancer at the same time as his daughter, Melanie Shatner Gretsch — along with the ways he supported her during the uncertain time.

During an interview with People published on July 22, the actor, 95, and his youngest of three daughters, Melanie, 61, detailed their joint cancer journeys. William was diagnosed with stage 4 malignant melanoma that had spread to his lungs and brain in June 2023. This came as Melanie was undergoing treatment for stage 4 breast cancer.
