Frank Beard Dies: Longtime ZZ Top Drummer Was 77

ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard, a longtime member of the legendary rock band who had been with the group for 57 years after joining in 1969, has died. He was 77.

“It was announced today that Frank Beard, ZZ Top’s drummer for the past 56 years, has died. He was in hospice care when he passed away at his ranch in Richmond, TX, with family members at his side,” according to a statement given to ABC News on Tuesday, August 18, from the band’s publicist.
