Willem Dafoe to Receive The First Hollywood Walk of Fame Star of 2024

Actor Willem Dafoe is set to receive the very first Hollywood Walk of Fame star of 2024, today, January 8, 2024, at 11:30 am PT. Dafoe will become the 2,768th person to receive a highly-coveted star on the famous Walk of Fame and will be receiving the star in the category of Motion Pictures. iHeart Media personality Ellen K will be the emcee at the event honoring Dafoe, and Patricia Arquette and Pedro Pascal are set to speak.

Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame shared, “Willem Dafoe is an immensely talented and versatile actor who has become a prominent figure in the film industry. He has captivated audiences with his remarkable performances, often portraying characters with a unique intensity and complexity. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Willem with the first Walk of Fame star of 2024!”

Dafoe has made over 100 films during his long career and some of his most famous pieces of work include Spider-Man, Inside, The Lighthouse, Platoon, Shadow of the Vampire, The Florida Project, Poor Things, and many, many more. His career began in the late ’70s when he was given a role in the film Heaven’s Gate, but was later fired. This didn’t stop him and he continued to work, proving his chops as a serious actor. Dafoe is set to star in the highly-anticipated sequel Beetlejuice 2.

In addition to acting, Dafoe is a founding member of a New York-based theatre collective called The Wooster Group and has worked on both U.S. and international productions. He has also worked with his wife, director Giada Colagrande, on several films including Padre, A Woman, Before It Had A Name, and the documentary Bob Wilson’s Life And Death Of Marina Abramovic.
