So That’s What Delilah Looks Like! The Queen of Sappy Love Songs Visits With Drew Barrymore
“Good evening and welcome to the Delilah Show.” If you drove anywhere late at night chances are as you scrolled through your radio stations you’ve come across the ever-soothing voice of DELILAH. The syndicated radio show host has been sharing her words of wisdom, love and friendship with listeners for years. She’s pictured above on the left with actress Ariana Bose and Drew Barrymore.
Known for being the queen of sappy love songs, the 63-year-old Delilah Rene is a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show Thursday, November 30.
“Meeting Drew was like meeting an old friend … for the first time,” she shared. “She’s incredibly down to earth, sweet and funny! I loved our time together.”
After graduating high school in 1978, Delilah worked her way through various radio gigs in the Seattle and Oregon markets, before cementing her fame and beloved format on KLSY in 1984. She quickly became a late-night trusted confidant where listeners would share their heartaches, tears and their personal stories as she fielded their calls and letters (later emails), and ultimately offering support, encouragement and prayers, as well as a special song dedication.
Today Delilah’s soothing voice, open heart, and love of music attracts millions of listeners on more than 160 radio stations, making her the most-listened-to-woman on radio in the U.S. For her work on the program, the Marconi Award winner has been inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the National Radio Hall of Fame. Along with her channel on iHeartRadio and her podcast, LOVE SOMEONE With Delilah. Delilah is also the author of four books, including her most-recent work One Heart at a Time.
