Heather Locklear Joins ‘Melrose Place’ Reunion & Learns Who Had the Biggest Crush on Her
What To Know
- The main cast of Melrose Place, including Heather Locklear, reunited at 90s Con 2026.
- Cast members discussed their favorite romantic pairings and memorable scenes.
- Heather Locklear revealed she still owns all of Amanda Woodward’s wardrobe from the show.
The energy was electric when the Melrose Place cast reunited and took center stage for 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut. Heather Locklear, Grant Show, Daphne Zuniga, Laura Leighton, Jack Wagner, and Rob Estes reunited during the fifth anniversary convention, held October 16–18, 2026, sharing memories of television’s most complicated apartment complex. From workplace romances to wardrobe privileges, the conversation offered plenty of reminders of why life at Melrose was never dull.
For Leighton, who played the endlessly unpredictable Sydney Andrews, the scripts sometimes required a little courage. “There were some really vulnerable times, like Sydney’s going to be a stripper and things like that,” she recalled. “That’s a new and vulnerable feeling as an actor.”

Her solution was to find something she and Sydney had in common. “I guess Sydney’s probably going to feel vulnerable too,” she explained. “So you can sometimes use part of that with how Sydney might have felt.”
Locklear, whose Amanda Woodward rarely seemed intimidated by anything, had a simpler answer when asked how she grounded herself amid the outrageous storylines. “Absolutely not,” she said. “I went home and I took a nap, and I felt grounded.”

The Primetime Romance Pushed Boundaries
The cast also reflected on the show’s willingness to push the limits of primetime romance, including those memorable encounters that required clearing everything off an office desk. “I think that’s part of what sold the show because that didn’t happen on television,” Wagner said, crediting the series’ willingness to take risks.
Estes, who played Kyle McBride, didn’t need much time to choose a favorite romantic scene. “I think my favorite romantic or sexual scene was with Heather,” he said, before making an important distinction. “It wasn’t Heather, it was Amanda.”
Not that the distinction entirely solved the problem. “But I already had a crush on Heather or Amanda,” he admitted.

Cast Shares Their Favorite Hookups
With so many characters falling in and out of love, fans naturally wanted to know which pairings the actors preferred. Leighton’s answer reached beyond Sydney’s most familiar entanglements to a guest character played by Chad Lowe.
“He was the quirky inventor, genius guy,” she recalled. “I happen to think her best pairing was maybe with Chad Lowe’s character [pictured above].” In Leighton’s view, outside interference spoiled something that might otherwise have worked. “They really wouldn’t have broken up had that not happened,” she said. “So I think he was the one that got away.”
Zuniga, meanwhile, remained partial to Jo Reynolds’ connection with Show’s Jake Hanson, even when Jo’s romantic decisions suggested otherwise. “Jo always got along with Jake,” she said. “But she would always go off with all these jerks.”

Some of the Cast Had More Wardrobe Privileges
The actors had opinions about their characters’ clothes, too. Leighton remembered Sydney enjoying freedoms that weren’t necessarily available to everyone under producer Aaron Spelling‘s watch.
“She was allowed to wear hats. She was allowed to wear sunglasses. She was allowed to change her hair with every job change,” she said. “I definitely had a different set of rules.”
Locklear had an especially good reason to take an interest in Amanda’s wardrobe: Her contract allowed her to keep it. “With the wardrobe, the stylist, we would decide what I wanted to keep in my real life, and that’s what I would wear,” she explained. And with ’90s fashion finding a new audience, she may be particularly well prepared. “I have everything still in my house,” Locklear said.
Leighton remembered benefiting from that arrangement herself. “I think I did one of your hand-me-downs that you didn’t want to take home,” she told Locklear, adding that the costume department sometimes allowed cast members to borrow something for a Friday night out.
