‘Family Affair’ Is Turning 60, and Catchy Comedy Is Throwing a Party!
Fans of the 1960s TV show Family Affair are in for a real treat, as Catchy Comedy is bringing an all-day marathon of the beloved series with special host Kathy Garver, who played Cissy on the show, on Sept. 13 from 1-5pm ET/PT. Kathy will share eight of her favorite episodes with viewers in honor of the show’s 60th anniversary.
Sixty years ago, Family Affair introduced audiences to a different kind of family, one built by love, loyalty and the bonds formed along the way. The sitcom premiered on CBS in 1966 and followed successful New York City bachelor Bill Davis (Brian Keith), whose comfortable life was upended when he became guardian to his late brother’s three children: teenage Cissy (Kathy Garver) and young twins Buffy (Anissa Jones) and Jody (Johnny Whitaker). With the help of his devoted English butler, Mr. French (Sebastian Cabot), Bill learns to embrace his unexpected role as a parent as the family navigates everyday joys, growing pains and heartfelt life adventures together.
The marathon showcases specially selected episodes from throughout the show’s run, spanning some of the series’ most memorable storylines and highlighting Cissy’s journey from adolescence toward young adulthood. See the full schedule below.
