Summer vacation meant loading up the family station wagon and then fanning out on the nation’s highways to see all the sights. Yellowstone, here we come! Surf’s up, Pismo Beach! All aboard for Weeki Wachee! If you never got out on the road, at least Hollywood brought us many of these adventures in some of our favorite summertime films. Movies that made us scared of the water, like Jaws, excited for Summer camp until you were murdered like in Friday the 13th, or even pretending we were on great road trips like National Lampoon’s Vacation, that never had us asking “Are we there yet?”
