Svengoolie’s August 2026 Schedule Includes ‘The Raven,’ ‘Trilogy of Terror’ & More
Svengoolie is bringing vampire hunters, electrified monsters, dinosaurs, Edgar Allan Poe and one very creepy doll to MeTV in August. Svengoolie and the Sven Squad also shared several big announcements at San Diego Comic-Con, along with this schedule. Gwengoolie (Sarah Palmer), IMP (Scott Gryder) and Nostalgiaferatoo (Bill Leff) are getting their own Garbage Pail Kids cards, which are expected to be released in October. Fans also got an early look at the fifth annual MeTV Halloween BOO-nanza, which will include a special Svengoolie showcase of The Wizard of Oz (1939), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and three House of Svengoolie presentations.
The classic horror and sci-fi movie block generally airs Saturdays from 8-10:30 pm ET/PT on MeTV. The August 15 House of Svengoolie episode will air from 8-10 pm ET/PT. Here is what is coming up this month.
August 1: Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974)

Everett Collection
Captain Kronos (Horst Janson) is a former soldier who now hunts vampires with the help of Professor Hieronymus Grost (John Cater). When young women begin mysteriously aging and dying, the pair discovers that they are dealing with an unusual vampire that drains the youth from its victims. Caroline Munro costars as Carla in the Hammer horror film, which was written and directed by Brian Clemens.
August 8: Man-Made Monster (1941)

Everett Collection
Dan “Dynamo Dan” McCormick (Lon Chaney Jr.) has an unusual resistance to electricity, making him the perfect subject for the dangerous experiments of Dr. Paul Rigas (Lionel Atwill). The experiments eventually transform Dan into a living electrical weapon controlled by the mad scientist. Directed by George Waggner, Man-Made Monster was Chaney’s first horror film for Universal. Later that year, he starred in his most famous monster movie, The Wolf Man (1941).
August 15: House of Svengoolie Presents The Land Unknown (1957)

Everett Collection
Gwengoolie (Sarah Palmer), IMP (Scott Gryder) and Nostalgiaferatoo (Bill Leff) take over the dungeon for another edition of House of Svengoolie. This time, the Sven Squad will present The Land Unknown, which follows Commander Harold Roberts (Jock Mahoney), reporter Maggie Hathaway (Shirley Patterson) and their companions after their helicopter crashes inside a warm crater in Antarctica. They soon discover a hidden prehistoric world where dinosaurs still roam.
August 22: The Raven (1935)

Everett Collection
Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff reunite in this Universal horror film suggested by Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem. Lugosi plays Dr. Richard Vollin, a brilliant surgeon who is obsessed with Poe and has recreated some of the author’s torture devices inside his home. After Vollin becomes fixated on dancer Jean Thatcher (Irene Ware), he recruits escaped killer Edmond Bateman (Karloff) to help carry out a revenge plot.
August 29: Trilogy of Terror (1975)

Everett Collection
Karen Black plays four roles in three different stories in this made-for-TV horror anthology directed by Dan Curtis. All three segments are based on short stories by Richard Matheson, but the best-remembered is “Amelia,” in which Black’s character is terrorized inside her apartment by a Zuni fetish doll that has come to life. Trilogy of Terror originally aired on ABC on March 4, 1975.
