MeTV’s ‘Month of Mayberry’ Celebrates Father & Son Week on ‘The Andy Griffith Show’
Starting on Monday, May 25, MeTV will present a week of back-to-back episodes highlighting the best of Andy and Opie on The Andy Griffith Show as part of the network’s annual “Month of Mayberry,” celebrating all things Andy Griffith.
“The Best of Father and Son” week will air Monday-Friday at 8 pm and 8:30 pm ET/PT, the whole week’s schedule is listed below.

Monday, May 25
8 pm – “Opie the Bird Man” (Originally aired September 30, 1963)
After Opie accidentally kills a mother bird with his new slingshot, he takes on the job of raising her babies himself. He grows very attached to them, but then has to set them free when they fledge.
8:30 pm – “Andy Discovers America” (Originally aired March 4, 1963)
Opie’s reinterpretation of Andy’s encouragement lands Andy in hot water with Opie’s new teacher, Miss Helen “Old Lady” Crump.
Tuesday, May 26
8 pm – “Mr. McBeevee” (Originally aired October 1, 1962)
Opie starts talking about his new friend Mr. McBeevee, but his description is hard to believe.
8:30 pm – “Andy and Opie, Housekeepers” (Originally aired March 13, 1961)
Taylor men are slobs, but picking up after themselves when on their own may be the wrong message to send to Aunt Bee, who needs to feel needed.
Wednesday, May 27
8 pm – “Opie’s Charity” (Originally aired November 28, 1960)
Pride in what other people think presents itself to Andy two-fold when he hears that Opie gave only a measly three cents to a school charity fund, and when a two-years-dead husband walks up to say hello.
8:30 pm – “Opie and the Bully” (Originally aired October 2, 1961)
Andy, through Barney, learns that Opie has been targeted by a bully who’s been shaking him down for milk money, leaving Andy to wonder how to intervene without letting Opie know he knows.

Thursday, May 28
8 pm -“Opie’s Hobo Friend” (Originally aired November 13, 1961)
Andy must put away the welcome mat when a likable drifter, passing through Mayberry, starts putting Artful Dodger-ish notions into Opie’s head.
8:30 pm – “One-Punch Opie” (Originally aired December 31, 1962)
Opie must learn to fight when a new boy in town ridicules him and begins to lead his friends toward a life of crime.
Friday, May 29
8 pm – “Opie’s Fortune” (Originally aired November 16, 1964)
Opie finds a change purse and almost gains $50.
8:30 pm – “Opie and the Spoiled Kid” (Originally aired February 18, 1963)
Opie’s friend Arnold seems to have it all—a new bike, fat allowance, and plenty of leisure time. When the pressure’s on, though, Opie learns that these assets are actually Arnold’s greatest weakness.
