Silk Stalkings premiered on CBS on November 7, 1991, before moving to USA Network, where it ran until April 18, 1999. The Stephen J. Cannell crime drama followed detectives investigating crimes of passion among the wealthy in Palm Beach, Florida, though much of the series was actually filmed in California. Over eight seasons and 176 episodes, the show underwent several major cast changes, from the original Chris (Rob Estes) and Rita (Mitzi Kapture) era to the later Tom (Chris Potter) and Cassy (Janet Gunn) era.

Do you remember this ’90s series? Let’s find out what happened to the main cast of Silk Stalkings.

Mitzi Kapture as Rita Lee Lance

Mitzi Kapture, 64, played Sgt. Rita Lee Lance, one of the show’s original leads and half of the Chris and Rita partnership that defined the early years of Silk Stalkings. Kapture stayed with the series from 1991 to 1995, and Rita was eventually promoted to lieutenant before Kapture left the show. After Silk Stalkings, Kapture returned to television in USA Network movies, then joined Baywatch as Alexis Ryker and later played Anita Hodges on The Young and the Restless. Her later credits include Night of Terror, God’s Ears, and a 2010 guest appearance on Rules of Engagement. She will be attending the upcoming Hollywood Show and reuniting with several of her former Silk Stalkings co-stars.

Rob Estes as Chris Lorenzo

Rob Estes, 62, played Sgt. Chris Lorenzo, Rita’s partner and eventual husband. Estes was part of the original cast from 1991 to 1995, and Chris’ death in the fifth season marked one of the series’ biggest turning points. Before Silk Stalkings, Estes had appeared on Days of Our Lives, and after leaving the show, he became even more closely associated with Melrose Place, where he played Kyle McBride. He later appeared on Suddenly Susan, Providence, Women’s Murder Club, 90210, and, in more recent years, the After film series. Estes will be attending the upcoming Hollywood Show and reuniting with his ex and former co-star Heather Locklear.

Charlie Brill as Harry Lipschitz

Charlie Brill, 88, played Capt. Harry Lipschitz, who became one of the show’s most familiar faces, stayed through the end of the series. Brill had already built a long career before Silk Stalkings, including his role as Arne Darvin in the Star Trek episode “The Trouble with Tribbles,” a role he later reprised on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. On Silk Stalkings, Brill often shared scenes with his real-life wife, Mitzi McCall, who played Frannie Lipschitz.

McCall died in 2024, and Brill’s later career slowed down after decades of work in television, film, comedy, and voice acting. He will also be attending the upcoming Hollywood Show.

Nick Kokotakis as Michael Price

Nick Kokotakis, 61, played Det. Michael Price during the fifth season, when the series tried to move forward after the original Chris and Rita era. Michael was introduced as part of the transition after Chris’ death, but the pairing of Michael and Holly Rawlins did not last long on the show. Kokotakis’ other known credits include The Nutty Professor, As the World Turns and Xena: Warrior Princess

Tyler Layton as Holly Rawlins

Tyler Layton, 58, played Det. Holly Rawlins, Chris Lorenzo’s new partner near the end of the original era and then Michael Price’s partner during the brief Michael and Holly stretch. After Silk Stalkings, she appeared in shows including Dark Skies, The Sentinel, Chicago Hope, Ellen, and Charmed. She later worked extensively on stage, including seven seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival from 2000 to 2007.

Chris Potter as Tom Ryan

Chris Potter, 65, played Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan, who joined the show after the short-lived Michael and Holly era. Before Silk Stalkings, Potter was already known for Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and for voicing Gambit on X-Men: The Animated Series. After the series ended, he continued working steadily, with roles on Queer as Folk, The Young and the Restless, the Good Witch TV movies and other projects. His best-known later role is Tim Fleming on the long-running Canadian family drama Heartland.

Janet Gunn as Cassy St. John

Janet Gunn, 64, played Det. Sgt. Cassandra “Cassy” St. John, Tom Ryan’s partner and ex-wife, during the final three seasons of Silk Stalkings. Before joining the show, Gunn starred as Kelly Cochrane on Dark Justice, another crime drama connected to the same late-night TV era. After Silk Stalkings, Gunn continued acting in film and television, with credits including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Crossing Jordan, The Fugitive, Lost Voyage, Getting There, and Lost on Purpose
