Whatever Happened to Canadian Rocker Bryan Adams?
What To Know
- Bryan Adams continues to release new music, including his 16th album.
- Adams remains active on the global touring circuit.
- Despite his long career and preference for privacy, Adams still describes his songwriting as heartfelt.
At age 66, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams is still giving his fans soulful pop-rock music straight from the heart. In August 2025, the Canadian hitmaker released his 16th album, Roll With the Punches, and continued a lengthy arena tour through Europe and North America.
The debut single, “Never Ever Let You Go,” features Adams’ signature upbeat pop melodies, love-obsessed lyrics, and raspy vocals, plus a dizzying theme-park video featuring ’90s glam girl Elizabeth Hurley as the 16-time Grammy nominee’s gal. Adams credits his music-loving dad’s subscription to the Columbia House record club for his early obsession with music.
He signed his first record contract in 1978 … for the stunning sum of $1. Adams insisted on being paid in cash so he could put the bill in a frame. His 1983 album Cuts Like a Knife went platinum courtesy of the title track — plus two other smashes, “This Time” and “Straight From the Heart” — to establish Adams as a bona fide, if unassuming, rock star. Still, he never stopped writing songs, penning hits for such wide-ranging acts as KISS, Mötley Crüe, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, and even his fellow Canadian Anne Murray.

Though he shies away from interviews, Adams recently told Dan Rather that he considers his songs more like love letters. “There is no master class for how to write music,” Adams observed. “It has to be something you feel.”
In 2026, Adams is still not slowing down. In April, he released an exclusive new album in honor of Record Store Day, called Tough Town, on limited-edition grey vinyl, which includes tracks you could only get on the deluxe edition of Roll With the Punches. He is still heavily touring the world but will have a string of dates this summer in the US with another ’80s icon, Pat Benatar, and Neil Giraldo as the supporting act.
