250 Jason Voorhees Will Attempt World Record Over Friday the 13th Weekend

Milwaukee Horror Con will attempt to set a Guinness World Record.
The three-day convention at the Baird Center features celebrity guests from the Friday the 13th franchise.
Organizers expect thousands of horror fans to attend, making the Jason gathering one of the most visually dramatic highlights of the weekend.

Over the Friday the 13th weekend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Milwaukee Horror Con (one of the newer horror cons in the market), is set to make history by hosting the largest gathering of fans dressed as Jason from the Friday the 13th movie franchise. Taking place Sunday afternoon on March 15th at 2 pm, the goal is to gather at least 250 versions of the machete-wielding, hockey-mask-wearing slasher in one space.

The prize? A Guinness World Records title for the most Jason Voorhees in one room.

“This is going to be one of the most insane visuals Milwaukee has seen,” said event organizer Chris Vecchio. “Hundreds of Jasons walking around the convention center at the same time — it’s going to look like a horror movie came to life.”

The rules for participating are simple: you must be wearing a hockey mask. Of course, going above and beyond and dressing as the killer in any variation is strongly encouraged. The event is FREE for everyone to participate in

But that’s not all. The con also has numerous guest stars attending over the 3-day event, which is located at the Baird Center in Downtown Milwaukee. They will feature appearances from several actors connected to the Friday the 13th franchise including CJ Graham (Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives), Ari Lehman (Jason as a kid, Friday the 13th), Judie Aronson (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Weird Science), and Melanie Kinnaman (Friday the 13th: A New Beginning), who will be meeting fans throughout the weekend.

Additional horror guests appearing include Tyler Mane (Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween franchise), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Brett Wagner (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Leatherface), Jon Abrahams (Scary Movie), Naomi Grossman (American Horror Story), and Walter Phelan (Dr. Satan in House of 1000 Corpses).
