Barry Manilow was forced to postpone his Las Vegas shows for health reasons after undergoing cancer surgery.

On Wednesday, February 6, the iconic singer, 82, took to Instagram with a statement that began, “I want to share an update with you all.”

Manilow continued, “I’m doing great and recovering very well after my surgery. I’ve been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic. With my doctor’s guidance and recommendation, however, we have decided to postpone my residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas from 12–21 so I can stay focused on healing and getting ready for the tour that’s kicking off at the ned of February.”

To conclude his message, the “Copacabana” singer wrote, “Having a few extra weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered!”

Tickets for Manilow’s postponed Las Vegas shows are fully refundable at the point of purchase. His tour kicks off on Friday, February 27, at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.

In the comments, Manilow’s followers showered him with prayers and well-wishes. One fan shared, ” I’m glad you’re taking the time you need to make sure your recovery goes well. We’ll be ready when you are. ❤️❤️.”

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user shared, “Take all the time you need. We will always be here for you! Continued prayers and hugs. ❤️.”

In December, Manilow announced via Instagram his cancer diagnosis, also sharing that he would undergo surgery to remove a cancerous spot on his left lung.
