Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin recently stepped out for a rare public appearance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2006 film.
On January 28, the former child actress — who played Olive in of Little Miss Sunshine — attended a 20th anniversary screening at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. Many of Breslin’s costars joined her for the event at the Eccles Center Theater in Park City, Utah.
Photos from the screening showed Breslin, 29, posing with Paul Dano (Dwayne), Toni Collette (Sheryl), and Greg Kinnear (Richard). Notably missing was Steve Carell, who played Frank in the film. The outing marked Breslin’s first red carpet event since April 2024.

Breslin also took to Instagram with a personal photo from the 20th anniversary screening. “Another blurry selfie courtesy of ya girl,” she captioned the January 29 update.
In the comments, fans rejoiced over the reunion, with one Instagram user declaring, “Incredible cast. I LOVE THIS FAMILY 🥹❤️.”
Someone else shared, “Just watched it last night for the first time in years. I’ll never not cry when you ask Alan Arkin if you’re pretty. You in this movie is some of the best acting I’ve ever seen. 😭.”
Another follower wrote, “Still a classic and RIP Alan Arkin.” (Arkin, who played Olive’s grandfather, Edwin, died in 2023.)
Meanwhile, a different Instagram user commented, “A yearly watch for me 💜💜 Happy 20 years to Little Miss Sunshine!!”

Breslin earned an Oscar nomination at 11 for playing Olive in the 2006 film. Additionally, Little Miss Sunshine won two Oscars for Best Original Screenplay for Michael Arndt and Best Supporting Actor for Arkin.
