The Little Rascals star Bug Hall is reportedly living off-grid with his wife and five children after taking a vow of poverty following his arrest for allegedly huffing air duster cans.
In an article published by the Daily Mail on January 28, the former child actor who played Alfalfa in the 1994 film detailed how he relocated his family to an area near Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Hall, who identifies as a “radical Catholic extremist,” said he took a “vow” of poverty after giving up the money he made as a child actor. He reportedly donated his savings and most of his possessions, with a plan to “maintain a life as free of any need for an income as possible.”
“If there’s a financial need that comes up, I’ll go take some work or do an odd job, for cash to fulfill that need,” he told the outlet.
Today, Hall and his wife, Jill DeGroff, live with their four daughters and one son in an RV with a generator and water holding tank. His goal is to build a house with a hydro-electrical dam. Additionally, Hall said he and his wife will “strongly discourage” their daughters from attending “nonsense” formal school or college.

Hall also revealed that he decided to step away from acting in 2020 after his arrest for the alleged huffing. Although he was arrested for misdemeanor possession, Hall did not face charges. He said the arrest sparked his change in outlook.
