Timothy Busfield‘s lawyers recently shared audio recordings of the alleged victims denying that he inappropriately touched them following his arrest for child sex abuse.
On January 19, TMZ obtained the recordings, in which the twin 11-year-old boys — who alleged inappropriate touching from Busfield, 68, on the set of The Cleaning Lady, which he directed — were interviewed by police officers in November 2024.
The officer asked the brothers, referred to as S.L. and V.L. in legal documents, “You know no one can touch your private areas?” To that, both boys answered, “Yes.” And when the officer asked if Tim ever touched their privates, they both replied, “No.”
Busfield’s attorneys submitted the audio recordings to the New Mexico court on January 19. Although prosecutors described the interview as the boys failing to “disclose” the abuse, Busfield called it an “unequivocal denial” of the allegations.
In the criminal complaint, prosecutors noted that the twins revealed the alleged inappropriate touching after therapy. Their mother claimed that one of the boys told his counselor in September 2025 that Busfield had touched his penis and bottom.
On January 13, Busfield turned himself in to New Mexico police after the Albuquerque Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest. Although he denied the allegations, the actor is being held without bond pending his court date on January 20.
“They’re all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys, and I’m gonna fight it,” Busfield insisted in a video obtained by TMZ on January 13. “I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies. So hang in there, and, hopefully, I’m out real soon and back to work. I love everybody for supporting me, thank you.”
In addition to The West Wing, Busfield is known for Field of Dreams, thirtysomething, and Revenge of the Nerds. He is married to Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, who has also released a statement in support of her husband.
