Timothy Busfield’s location is still unknown, going on four days after a warrant was issued for his arrest for alleged child sex abuse.

On Friday, January 9, the Albuquerque Police Department (ADP) issued the arrest warrant. It alleged that the West Wing and thirtysomething actor, 68, engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with twin actors, 11, whom he met on the set of The Cleaning Lady as a director. One of the unnamed brothers alleged that the abuse began when he was just 7.

As of late Monday, January 13, the APD told People that it was working with the U.S. Marshals Service to find and arrest Busfield. An ADP spokesperson told the publication, when asked if Busfield had been located or detained, “Not that I am aware.”

In the arrest warrant, officer Marvin Kirk Brown detailed, “In my training and experience, pedophiles often infiltrate families under a trusted role, like Timothy, who, as a producer, exploited the hectic film sets to tickle and touch SL on his penis and buttocks, masking it as play.”

Brown added, “He would invite the family to off-set gatherings, with his wife buying Christmas gifts to foster closeness, making SL feel special and dependent — classic grooming to erode boundaries, isolate the victim, and silence suspicions by blending abuse into normalcy. This dual tactic, charming parents while secretly violating the child, builds a web of complicity that is hard to unravel, delaying detection, as families trust the abuser’s facade.”

Busfield is best known for playing Danny Concannon in The West Wing and Elliot Weston in thirtysomething. He also notably portrayed Poindexter in Revenge of the Nerds (1984) and Mark in Field of Dreams (1989). Additionally, the actor has been married to Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert, 61, since 2013.

The Cleaning Lady aired for four seasons from 2022 to 2025.
