Jimmy Neutron star Jeff Garcia is dead at 50, and prayers are pouring in for the beloved Nickelodeon voice actor who played Sheen.
On Wednesday, December 10, Garcia died at a Southern California hospital after he was taken off life support, family members told TMZ. He reportedly suffered a series of medical emergencies, including a brain aneurysm and a stroke, leading up to his death.
That same day, Garcia’s son, Jojo Garcia, confirmed his father’s death via Instagram.
“With a very heavy heart, I would like to inform everybody that my father, Jeff Garcia, has passed away,” Jojo captioned the joint post with Jeff’s account. “My father was a unique soul. He was unapologetically himself, and I will always admire the love, compassion, and drive that he had. He taught me so much and gave me advice that I live by every single day.”
The bereaved son continued, “The talent my father possessed was truly one of a kind. From voice acting to stand up comedy, he shined with his quick wit, brash humor, and charm. He has made such an impact on people’s lives internationally, whether you grew up watching Jimmy Neutron, or shared a laugh with him at one of his shows.”
To conclude the heartfelt post, Jojo declared, “He was my hero… I idolized him. He may be gone, but he will NEVER be forgotten. He lives on through our family and friends he loved so dearly, along with the legacy he has created. I know you’re in heaven smiling down, and you’re in a better place now. No more pain. I’m going to make you proud, pops. Fly high, Rocket Man. LLJG🕊️👼🏼.”

Debi Derryberry, who voiced Jimmy Neutron, took to Instagram with a tribute for Garcia.
“RIP @jeffgarciala,” she wrote. “I’m devastated to find out that my dear friend Jeff Garcia, who also played Sheen on Jimmy Neutron has passed away. We were all together just a few months ago at a convention. He was always the funniest man in the room. We’re gonna miss you, Sheen.”

Another X user shared, “Rest in peace, Jeff Garcia. Thank you for being a part of our childhoods and never failing to make us laugh, you absolute legend.”
Someone else pointed out, “Sad day coming out of the Nickelodeon world. Jeff Garcia, who voiced Sheen in Jimmy Neutron, and Jim Ward, who voiced Doug Dimmadome and Chet Ubetcha on The Fairly Oddparents, both died today. Jeff was 50 and Jim was 66.”
Meanwhile, someone else echoed, “Sheen is one of my all-time favorite cartoon characters, and most of it is thanks to Jeff‘ Garcia‘s impeccable vocal delivery. Rest well, king.”
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius aired on Nickelodeon from 2002 to 2006, following the release of a 2001 movie. In addition to Garcia and Derryberry, the series featured the voice talents of Rob Paulsen as Carl, Mark DeCarlo as Dad, and Megan Cavanagh as Mom.
