1968 is often remembered as one of the most turbulent years in modern American history. Even if the chaos wasn’t occurring in your backyard, the newly-ubiquitous TV brought all the news into your living room: the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy, the Tet Offensive and My Lai massacre in Vietnam and student protests against the war back home, civil rights marches, Soviet aggression in Czechoslovakia, and police beating protesters outside the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Richard Nixon won a contentious election, and riots occurred in U.S. cities throughout the year.

But it was also Peggy Fleming winning the gold medal at the Winter Olympics and Goldie Hawn’s bubbly personality in Martin & Rowan’s Laugh-In; it was Jackie Kennedy marrying Aristotle Onassis and Apollo 8 rounding the moon. What else do you remember from this iconic year? Take our quiz and find out!
