Valerie Bertinelli sent a bold political message about being a 15-year-old after Megyn Kelly‘s controversial remarks about Jeffrey Epstein.

On November 12, the former Fox News host, 54, spoke on The Megyn Kelly Show about the Epstein emails that were recently released. Kelly said that a person “very close to the case” led her to believe that Epstein ”was not a pedophile” because he was “into the barely legal type.” Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

“There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?” Kelly said on the show. “It’s just, whatever, it’s sick. Every time we start talking about Epstein, it makes your skin crawl, right? The whole thing is just disgusting.”

On November 15, Bertinelli took to Instagram with her reaction, calling back to her experience as a child actor on One Day at a Time.

“This picture was taken in 1975. I’m 15. I’m a child,” she captioned the update. “I’m gonna say this a little louder for those in the back row. I’m FIFTEEN. I’M A CHILD.”

Bertinelli continued, “It doesn’t matter that I got a job. It doesn’t matter what I was doing. I was a child. Maybe we should flood the Internet with pictures of all of us at 15? #imfifteen #imachild.”
