Carol Burnett recently shared major retirement news after a seven-decade career.

Recently, the iconic Carol Burnett Show star, 92, sat down with her Palm Royale costars to promote Season 2 of the Apple TV series. She confirmed during an interview with Extra TV that her role as Norma Dellacorte would likely be her “last hurrah” as an actor.

“Unless something just unbelievable comes up, I don’t feel that I can top being with Palm Royale,” she explained. “It started with Better Call Saul. When I did that, I thought, ‘Oh, this is really great’, and I knew everybody, and I had a great time.”

Burnett continued, “Then I got the call from Abe Sylvia to do this, and I said, ‘My goodness, that’s like a cherry on top of the sundae, and I don’t know what would come up that I would really want to do that could be as good as this.”

“Oh, I’m like a kid in a candy store,” Burnett shared. “You know, as I say, I don’t know for some reason, I think I am like a kid again, playing in the sandbox with some new best friends. I have new best friends now, which I didn’t have before this. I have some old best friends. I couldn’t be happier.”

In addition to Martin and Wiig, Palm Royale stars Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Josh Lucas, Amber Chardae Robinson, Kaia Gerber, Julia Duffy, and more.

The first two episodes of Palm Royale Season 2 premiered on November 12, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays until the finale on January 14.
