“The man who has for six decades given the world so many gifts,” Cooper said of the ’80s rock legend in a video shared via X. “I found this man was at the exact right time in my life when I most needed to.”

He continued, of Springsteen, “So often they say, you don’t meet your heroes because they will terribly disappoint you. This gentleman far exceeded my expectations. He was an incredibly generous collaborator. He was there for me when I had any question, day or night, regardless of the hour.”

In a different X video, a member of the audience featured the crowd’s enthusiastic standing ovation for Springsteen.

The music icon also performed his song “Atlantic City” from his 1982 album Nebraska at the biopic premiere.
