William Shatner Gives Health Update After Hospital Visit: ‘I Overindulged’

“Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!,” wrote a playful William Shatner on his Instagram page, reassuring his worried fanbase after reports that he had been rushed to the hospital for a medical emergency.
The 94-year-old Star Trek legend accompanied the post with a still from his guest appearance on the CBS series Murdoch Mysteries, in which he portrayed Mark Twain. Using the image as a tongue-in-cheek response, the one-time T.J. Hooker star made it clear he was very much alive and well, and aimed to calm the masses with a bit of humor.
The caption of the post read: “I over indulged. I thank you all for caring, but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI! 😉”

According to TMZ, Shatner’s agent, Harry Gold, said the actor “experienced an issue” with his blood sugar at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday afternoon. Because of his advanced age, he called paramedics as a precaution, and Shatner was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out. After doctors determined there was no danger, the actor was promptly released. “He’s fine,” Gold confirmed upon Shatner’s release.
Despite his age, Shatner is far from slowing down. Over the decades, he has entertained generations with unforgettable performances in The Twilight Zone, the Star Trek TV and film series, the cop drama T.J. Hooker, the acclaimed legal series Boston Legal, and as the host of the docuseries Rescue 911, among many other projects. Most recently, he brought his signature wit and charm to the Fox reality competition series Stars on Mars — proving that, at 94, William Shatner remains as boldly entertaining as ever.
