Here’s Why Amy Adams Finally Apologized to Christina Applegate
Did you know that Christina Applegate wasn’t the original Kelly Bundy on Married With Children? In the show’s pilot episode, Tina Caspary played the role of Kelly, while Hunter Carson played her brother, Bud. Before the series aired publicly, however, Ed O’Neill, sensing something was a bit off, requested that the roles of the two Bundy kids be recast.
While I have nothing against Tina, I’m awfully glad that Christina ended up with the role. Married With Children ran on FOX for 11 seasons, and those first few seasons were so much fun. However, years later, Christina endured something at the hands of fellow star Amy Adams that was less fun — Amy accidentally called Christina 300 times.

So how does Amy Adams fit into the Married With Children star’s life?
Six-time Academy Awards nominee Amy Adams has been in far too many movies to mention in this short piece, including the 2016 science fiction film Arrival and the 2014 drama American Hustle, for which she won a Best Actress Golden Globe.
So why did she have to apologize to Christina Applegate? According to E! News, during a 2018 interview with Seth Meyers, Amy actually used the NBC broadcasting system to issue a worldwide apology. It seems that Amy has a bit of a problem with technology; specifically, her smartphone.
By her own estimate, Amy had accidentally dialed Christina 300 times within the space of, get this, two months. She also admitted that she would always hang up before Christina could answer.

Looking into the TV camera that night, Amy talking directly to Christina and said, “It’s not nice, so I apologize.”
Apology aside, if you’re thinking that Amy was “butt-dialing” Christina, you’d be wrong. Here’s how Amy explained the multitude of accidental dials: “She’s at the top of my contacts list and I have fat cheeks. And I keep accidentally calling her when I smile during other phone calls.”

The good news is that Christina is way more forgiving than her TV alter-ego, the notorious Kelly Bundy, ever was — and because of that, she and Amy are still good friends. This is fortunate for Amy, because did you ever see that Married With Children episode where actress Tia Carrere played a character that rubbed Kelly the wrong way? Oh, my goodness, that’s one not to be missed. It happened during the fifth season of the show, and you can learn more about it here.
