How To Watch MeTV’s New All-Western Channel WEST

MeTV’s parent company, Weigel Broadcasting, is bringing classic Westerns back to the small screen with a brand-new channel called WEST. Launching September 29, 2025, the network will air favorites like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide and The Virginian around the clock. It is the first channel in years devoted entirely to Westerns, and is a free over-the-air channel, meaning it can be watched without cable or any kind of special subscription; however, figuring out where it will be airing in your area will require a little bit of extra research.

WEST is a “non-network” channel, which is where things can get a little confusing. Most people know their local stations by the big names like CBS, NBC, or ABC, but in recent years broadcasters have filled out their signals with extra digital “subchannels.” That is where you’ll usually find MeTV, H&I, or Story Television, and now WEST will be joining them. Instead of being a full station on its own, it will often appear as an additional channel on a local broadcaster’s lineup.

At launch, WEST will reach about half of the country, starting in 46 markets that together cover 55.7 percent of households. If you have an over-the-air antenna, the best way to check is by rescanning your TV to see if the channel appears. Many local stations will list WEST as one of their digital subchannels, and that is how you’ll tune in.

For those who rely on cable or satellite, WEST is already confirmed on DISH (channel 372) and on select regional systems. If you do not see it yet, you may want to ask your provider or keep checking for updates, since more carriers are expected to add the channel as it rolls out.
