New All-Westerns Channel WEST Brings ‘Bonanza,’ ‘Gunsmoke’ and More Back to TV

If you’re a fan of Westerns, you might want to remember September 29: Weigel Broadcasting has announced the launch of its newest national network, WEST (Western Entertainment Series Television), a new all-Western channel that will premiere on September 29, 2025, showcasing favorite classic Westerns including Gunsmoke and Bonanza.
At launch, WEST will saddle up in 46 television markets across the country, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, Detroit and Orlando. That adds up to coverage of more than half of U.S. households. Fans can also find it on TDS cable systems and on DISH channel 372, with more distribution expected to roll out over time.

Viewers can expect to see classics like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Maverick, Rawhide, The Wild Wild West, Wanted: Dead or Alive, The Virginian and many others. Even better, some shows will be presented exactly as they were originally meant to be seen, rather than in the heavily-edited versions often used in syndication. For instance, The Virginian will air in its original full-length format without cuts for time. Weeknights will spotlight the heavy hitters of the genre, while weekends will feature all-day marathons.
WEST joins the Weigel family of national networks, which already includes favorites like MeTV, MeTV Toons, Start TV, Heroes & Icons, Catchy Comedy, MeTV+, Story Television, Dabl and MOVIES! Together, they have built a lineup of specialty channels that lean into nostalgia and timeless storytelling, and WEST looks ready to carry on that tradition.
