MeTV ‘Collector’s Call’ Shows Off Impressive ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Collection (Exclusive Photos)

In the 1970s, it seemed that Charlie’s Angels had countless viewers — and collector Mike Pingel was one of them. Many years later, Pingel — who is now a writer, actor, and publicist — has collected over 2,000 Charlie’s Angels-themed items and will be showcasing some of them in an upcoming episode of MeTV‘s Collector’s Call on Sunday, September 7 at 6:30pm ET/PT.
Pingel was not just a collector; his passion for the Angels has shaped his life. He moved to Los Angeles and started a newsletter about the show called Angelic Heaven, followed by a website for fellow fans. He began to meet the stars of the series in person and eventually served as Farrah Fawcett‘s personal assistant, appearing on her reality series, Chasing Farrah.
In this episode of Collector’s Call, pop culture expert and art historian Jennifer Klein takes a walk through Pingel’s “heavenly” collection, uncovering the stories behind the items and the memories they hold. Host Lisa Whelchel, best known for her role as Blair on The Facts of Life, guides the tour. As always, an appraiser will put a value on Pingel’s collection, and then, the show’s trademark twist: will Pingel be tempted to trade one of his prized possessions for something new?
He shared with us about being on the show, “Lisa Welchel really could have been a Charlie’s Angel – she looks timeless! Now, Lisa is a part of my Charlie’s Angels collection with the signed photo from her and all three of us in the classic Angel pose!”
He added that filming took place from around 7 am until 6 pm and said, “What was pretty funny is that Blair Warner [a.k.a. Welchel] was getting her makeup done in my bathroom! Now, that was something that does not happen every day!”
Collector’s Call airs Sundays at 6:30/5:30c on MeTV. Now in its sixth season, the series continues to highlight some of the most remarkable collections in the country, covering everything from Hot Wheels and Star Wars to Snoopy, Indiana Jones, and even pop culture icons like Drew Barrymore and Cyndi Lauper.
