Whatever Happened to E.G. Daily, Star of ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure’ and Voice Acting Legend?
At first glance, you may not know where you’ve seen E.G. Daily, but you’ve undoubtedly heard her voice. ’80s kids may remember her as Elizabeth Daily, when she starred as Loryn in Valley Girl, or Dottie opposite Paul Reubens in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. Or, if they owned the soundtrack to Better Off Dead, they rocked out to the film’s title track “One Way Love (Better Off Dead).”
But for those who grew up in the ’90s, E.G. Daily was one of the voices of their childhood. Not only did she voice Tommy Pickles on Nickelodeon’s Rugrats, but she also voiced Buttercup, the “awesome fighter” of The Powerpuff Girls and Babe in Babe: Pig in the City. Honestly, if you have a favorite cartoon growing up, chances are Daily appeared on it.
E.G. Daily has never stopped working; in fact, she might be busier today than she ever was. Here’s what she’s been up to.
Acting
Though Daily has primarily worked as a voice actor, she has still found time to appear in front of a camera. Funnily enough, Rob Zombie has cast her in a few of his horror movies, like The Devil’s Rejects and 31. But, she’s appeared in 2006’s National Lampoon’s Pledge This, 2012’s Yellow, and the 2020 remake of Valley Girl.
Did you know she was also on an episode of Friends? Daily played Leslie, former singing partner of Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) on Season 3’s “The One With Phoebe’s Ex-Partner.”
IMDB lists that she’s appearing in the upcoming TV movie Beverly Hills Broke, along with her fellow Powerpuff Girls alum (and voice acting icon) Tara Strong.
Voice Acting
Daily remains busy behind the microphone, voicing characters in children’s programs like Julius Jr., Curious George and the 2010 revival of Pound Puppies. She’s also acted in teen-oriented shows like Uncle Grandpa, Tig Tone, and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In 2025, she voiced characters in the FOX animated show Grimsburg and the Hanna-Barbera romp Jellystone. She also has roles in the upcoming The Marlin Cowboy and Pierre the Pigeon-Hawk.
Music
Daily is an accomplished musician. In 1985, her song “Say It, Say It” reached No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 while going to No. 1 on the U.S. Dance Club chart.
Her music appeared on many iconic movie soundtracks, including Scarface (“Shake It Up,” “I’m Hot Tonight”), The Breakfast Club (“Waiting”), and Summer School (“Mind over Matter”). She most recently released a cover of The Go-Go’s “We Got The Beat.”
In July 2025, E.G. revisited her Better Off Dead past on TikTok (where she remains active, often visiting her famous friends or recollecting about the past).

Daily passed on her music skills to her daughter, Hunter Daily Salomon. In September 2025, Hunter will release her Claw Marks EP, which will include songs like “Cowboy’s Gonna Ride, “Hope for the Best”, and “Dead End.”
E.G. cheered on her daughter in the days before Hunter released the official music video for her EPs title track. “My daughter’s new song is out,” E.G. posted on Aug. 12, days ahead of the video’s premiere. “Check it out. [It’s] so beautiful!”

Daily was romantically involved with Cover Up star Jon-Erik Hexum at the time of his accidental death in 1984. A decade later, she married professional poker player Rick Salomon.
Rick and E.G. had two daughters before their divorce in 2000. Salomon would then go on to marry Shannen Doherty and Pamela Anderson — twice.
Activism
E.G. Daily is a proud supporter of animal rights. “One of my greatest missions on this planet is to help animals. I feel so strongly that if you can’t help them, please don’t hurt them,” she writes on her official website.
In 2023, Last Chance for Animals, an international animal rights organization, awarded E.G. Daily with the Celebrity Activist Award.
