Who Were Fonzie’s Many Love Interests on ‘Happy Days’? Vote for Your Favorite!

Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli might have been known for his leather jacket, motorcycle and signature “Ayyy,” but behind all that cool was a man who fell hard when he fell in love. Over the course of 11 seasons of Happy Days, Fonzie had around 41 love interests! Can you believe that?
Of course, some were just quick faces that appeared and went before you could even notice, while others stuck around and made a big impact on the Fonz. Plus, there was that accidental marriage to Jenny Piccalo … no matter which way you slice it, Fonzie was a ladies’ man. But some girlfriends brought out his softer side, too.
Let’s reminisce about some of the top ladies that stole his heart:
Maureen Johnson

CBS
Maureen Johnson almost got Fonzie’s heart forever. The pretty redhead, played by Nellie Bellflower, showed up in the show’s second season, and Fonzie fell in love with what he thought was a sweet and innocent gal. Fonzie proposed to her and brought her to meet his friends, who realized that she wasn’t who she said she was. Turns out, she actually worked as a stripper with the persona “The Lone Stripper.”
Fonzie found out the truth when, at Mr. Cunningham’s urging, he checks out a burlesque club, and things get dramatic. The pair broke up, which showed a more vulnerable side of the Fonz.
Pinky Tuscadero

Another woman who almost won his heart for good was Pinky Tuscardero, played by Roz Kelly. They seemed to be the perfect match — both loved cool 1950s greaser styling almost as much as they loved their motorcycles. The pair also talked about marriage.
Fans seemed to love them together and thought that Pinky might become a recurring character. Sadly, she only appeared in three episodes during the long-running series, as Fonzie moved on. However, she later showed up in the short-lived Happy Days spinoff series, Blansky’s Beauties.
Ashley Pfister

In Season 10, Linda Purl showed up as Ashley Pfister, a divorced mother of a young daughter. Interestingly enough, Purl had already acted in the series as Richie’s girlfriend Gloria during Season 2. As Ashley, she connected with Fonzie and got him to show a softer, more caring side. They also considered marriage, but in the end, Ashley still had feelings for her ex-husband and went back to her old life.
Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney

We can’t forget that Fonzie and Richie went out on one date with Laverne and Shirley! Played by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, Laverne and Shirley debuted in the Season 3 episode “A Date With Fonzie.” Technically, both characters would count as love interests of the Fonz, since he pulled both of their names from his little black book. However, on this particular date, Fonzie paired up with Laverne.
Although it wasn’t a forever love match, it was an adorable episode and showed a more playful side to Fonzie — and led to a beloved spinoff series.
While Fonzie ultimately did not end up with a romantic love match at the end of the series, let us know which lady you wish he could have ended up with!
