Buffy The Vampire Slayer hit the airwaves in March 1997 with a bang (or is that a stake?). Even though it was never a massive ratings hit, the show rocketed Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the badass vampire hunter Buffy, to fame, as well as several members of the ensemble cast, like Alyson Hannigan and David Boreanaz  The series ran for seven highly influential seasons (and that’s not counting the spin-off show, Angel, or the comic books that continued the story), and if anything, its profile has only grown in the decades since it left the airwaves.
