Father’s Day Programming 2025: Where to Watch Dad-Friendly TV

Happy Father’s Day! Sit down with Dad today and enjoy several classic films featuring all sorts of paternal types.

Turner Classic Movies Father’s Day Lineup

The lineup on Turner Classic Movies begins with The Entertainer (1960) at 6:15am ET, a British drama led by Best Actor Oscar nominee Laurence Olivier, and Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945) at 8am ET, a drama starring Edward G. Robinson and Margaret O’Brien. After a re-airing of last night’s Noir Alley feature (1946’s Crack-Up) and a film in the network’s Summer Romance Sunday afternoon programming stunt (the 1939 screwball comedy Midnight), the fatherly titles pick up again with Judge Hardy and Son (1939) at 1:45pm ET, the eighth film in the Andy Hardy series of comedies, led by Lewis Stone and Mickey Rooney; The Courtship of Eddie’s Father (1963) at 3:30pm ET, led by Glenn Ford, Ron Howard and Shirley Jones; the drama East of Eden (1955) at 5:45pm ET, featuring Raymond Massey, Best Actor nominee James Dean and Best Supporting Actress winner Jo Van Fleet; Father of the Bride (1950) at 8pm ET, the beloved, Best Picture-nominated comedy starring Best Actor nominee Spencer Tracy as the father alongside Elizabeth Taylor as the bride; and Life With Father (1947) at 9:45 pm ET, a comedy starring Best Actor nominee William Powell, Irene Dunne and Taylor.

MOVIES! Father’s Day lineup

MOVIES! kicks off its Father’s Day lineup with The Courtship of Eddie’s Father at 11:30am ET. Following that is the Best Picture-nominated drama On Golden Pond (1981) at 2pm ET, starring Best Actor winner Henry Fonda in his final film role, alongside Best Actress winner Katharine Hepburn and his real-life daughter Jane Fonda, who earned a Best Supporting Actress nod. The lineup concludes with Nothing in Common (1986) 4:25pm ET, director Garry Marshall‘s comedy/drama led by Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason in his final film role.

FETV Father’s Day lineup

FETV isn’t forgetting the fathers who love their classic TV, either. To celebrate Father’s Day this month, the network is airing The Greatest Dads on FETV on Father’s Day, June 15 from 9am to 3pm ET. Catch episodes of Leave It to Beaver, My Three Sons and Bewitched. You can view the whole schedule here.
