When you think of Vincent Price, you likely think of his horror films and larger-than-life personality. However, in his real life, he had a much softer side, and his daughter, Victoria Price, aims to share that legacy with his fans through her podcast Living Love. On May 27, 2025, she released a special bonus episode to honor what would have been her father’s birthday, stepping away from her usual format. The episode, titled “Vincent Price’s Top Five Heart-Centered Practices,” reveals a different side of the iconic actor that horror fans may have never seen.

Price was born on May 27, 1911, and passed away on October 25, 1993, at the age of 82 from lung cancer. Though he’s often remembered for his eerie performances and unmistakable voice, to his daughter, he was also the man whose smile could light up a room. The tribute episode had no script, just Victoria speaking candidly about the philosophies that shaped her father’s extraordinary life. She said that she first rediscovered many of these ideas during the Vincentennial, a celebration of his 100th birthday, which sparked her desire to dig deeper into what made him so happy. In revisiting those memories, she worded them into five guiding principles.

The first is: If you’re always curious, you’ll never be bored. Curiosity, she says, was at the center of her father’s life. Whether it was art, food (did you know he wrote a cookbook?) or people, he approached everything with a sense of wonder.

That led to his second practice: When you limit your interests, you limit your life. He believed in being open to every experience and every passion that called to him.

The third practice is: People who need people are the luckiest people in the world. For Price, relationships were everything. He truly believed in the power of connection and made everyone around him feel seen and appreciated.

His fourth heart-centered practice is one we all might do well to remember: Never lose your childlike wonder. No matter his age, Price never stopped being amazed by the world.

The final practice is just one word: Yes. It was his mantra, his open door to life and led him to many exciting opportunities. Victoria closes the episode with gratitude, wishing her father a happy birthday. If you’re interested in listening to the entire episode and subscribing to her podcast, check it out below:
