Celebrate George Wendt with 24-Hour ‘Cheers’ Marathon on Catchy Comedy Network

Sadly, the world recently lost George Wendt, 76, who famously played Norm on Cheers. He passed away on May 20, 2025, the anniversary of the show’s finale. In honor of one of the most recognizable faces on the series, Catchy Comedy Network is presenting a 24-hour Catchy Binge presentation of Cheers. The episodes will feature some of his funniest moments as a special tribute.
The marathon begins on Sunday, May 25 at 6am ET/PT and will continue through Monday, May 26 at 6am ET/PT. Some of the episodes featured will be “No Help Wanted” at 10:30am ET/PT, “The Executive’s Executive” at 12:30pm ET/PT, “The Peterson Principle” at 3:30pm ET/PT, “The Norm Who Came to Dinner” at 8:30pm ET/PT and “The King of Beers” at 9:30pm ET/PT. While Wendt is best known for Cheers, he started his career with the famous improv troupe Second City, in his hometown of Chicago. He guest-starred on other popular shows such as Taxi and M*A*S*H but found his big break playing Norm Peterson on Cheers for eleven seasons. He earned several Emmy nominations for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for the role.
