‘Gilmore Girls:’ Where Are They Now?

In case you haven’t heard, Gilmore Girls is coming to Start TV! Beginning on Monday, May 12, the show will be airing Monday-Friday at 4pm and 10pm ET; then, starting Saturday, June 14, Start TV will also begin airing a block of Gilmore Girls from 5-10pm ET each Saturday — which means five back-to-back episodes every Saturday night! That is a lot of Gilmore.
If you’re a fan of the show, like many of us here at ReMIND, this will be very exciting news. It also got us thinking … where is the cast of Gilmore Girls now? We may have caught up with a few cast members at last year’s annual Firelight Event (such as Scott Cohen, who played Max Medina), but what about the main cast members? If you are also curious what they’ve all been up to, then scroll on down.
Lauren Graham (58)
Lorelai Gilmore

Graham didn’t just play beloved mom Lorelei in Gilmore Girls from 2000-2007 (and its more recent miniseries revival); she also played another beloved mom, Sarah Braverman, on Parenthood from 2010-2015. Now, she’s pivoting a bit, starring as advertising CEO Monica Frazier on Tubi’s office comedy The Z-Suite.
But when that’s over, perhaps more Gilmore Girls is in store? Though there are no official plans for it, showrunners Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino recently teased a potential future series. Maybe. Well, their exact words were “Never say never.” It’s not exactly promising, but it’s not a “no” either!
Alexis Bledel (43)
Rory Gilmore

Alexis Bledel, who played precocious bookworm daughter Rory, has remained busy since the show ended. Most recently she was on several seasons of the hit dystopian Hulu show The Handmaid’s Tale, where she played handmaid Emily from 2017-2021.
Before that, she appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies, Sin City and Post Grad, among others. She also had a small role on Mad Men in 2012, which resulted in her meeting her eventual husband, series regular Vincent Kartheiser — who was, interestingly enough, also on a hit early 2000s show: the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff, Angel.
Keiko Agena (51)
Lane Kim

Rory’s best friend Lane Kim was responsible for a lot of the most comedic elements of Gilmore Girls; as a fellow immigrant daughter, I could relate to her the most as she struggled to maintain a relationship with her very religious, old-fashioned family while also harboring an artistic, rebellious side.
Agena, who was in her late twenties when she played the rebellious teenage drummer, has also remained busy since the show’s ending, acting in tons of shows and filmsover the last two decades, including Better Call Saul, Scandal, Dirty John, Prodigal Son and Doom Patrol — just to name a few!
Scott Patterson (66)
Luke Danes

Who could have guessed that diner owner and backward-cap-wearing Luke would be the man Lorelai ended up with? Well, some of us who were paying attention could have! Patterson will always be Luke to us, but he has since moved on to other roles, such as his most current, also somewhat-misanthropic role as Sully Sullivan on the CW comedy Sullivan’s Crossing. He’s also got a podcast where he talks all things Gilmore Girls called I Am All In.
Kelly Bishop (81)
Emily Gilmore

In addition to publishing a memoir last fall, Gilmore matriarch Kelly Bishop is currently revisiting the wealthy socialite vibe she is so good at portraying, with a new role in the Palladinos’ newest TV series, Étoile. Prior to that, she was also on the great (but short-lived) Freeform series The Watchful Eye, as well as (another) wonderful short-lived series from the Palladinos, Bunheads.
We must also mention that Edward Herrmann, who played Emily’s husband Richard Gilmore, passed away on December 31, 2014 at the age of 71. He died from brain cancer and his death was addressed in the Netflix revival Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Yanic Truesdale (55)
Michel Gerard

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Michael Loccisano/Getty Images
Truesdale’s first big audition when he moved to New York from Canada was for Gilmore Girls. Can you imagine that luck? He’s continued to act and is the owner of indoor cycling studio Spin Énergie in Montreal. He is also on the newest Palladino show, Étoile. It’s basically a little reunion!
Melissa McCarthy (54)
Sookie St. James

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Amy Sussman/Getty Images
After her start as Lorelai Gilmore’s best friend and chef extraordinaire Sookie, McCarthy became a pretty big movie star, with countless hits such as Bridesmaids, Life of the Party, Ghostbusters, Tammy and The Boss. Most recently she played Ursula in the newest live-action remake of The Little Mermaid and appeared in the Jerry Seinfeld film Unfrosted.
Liza Weil (47)
Paris Geller

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Paul Archuleta/Getty Images
Love her or hate her, Paris ended up being one of Rory’s closest friends. After the show, she found success on political drama Scandal and the legal drama How to Get Away with Murder. Most recently, she appeared in the 2023 film The Passenger.
Jared Padalecki (42)
Dean Forester

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Gary Miller/Getty Images
Besides being Rory’s first boyfriend, Padalecki is best known for his run on 15 seasons of Supernatural as Sam Winchester. He was also cast in the title role in Walker, a reboot series of Walker, Texas Ranger and is set to appear in the next season of The Boys. He is married to his Supernatural costar Genevieve Cortese, with whom he has three children.
Milo Ventimiglia (47)
Jess Mariano

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Anna Webber/Getty Images for AFI
After Gilmore Girls, Ventimiglia found success on the tearjerker hit show This is Us and has continued to work steadily. He is set to appear in the film I Can Only Imagine 2 in 2026. Sadly, he was one of the people to lose a home in the Malibu fires this year.
Matt Czuchry (47)
Logan Huntzberger

The CW/Everett Collection; Jerod Harris/Getty Images
Huntzberger went on to find success on The Good Wife and The Resident, but most recently appeared in the series American Horror Story: Delicate.
Sean Gunn (50)
Kirk Gleason

Warner Bros./Everett Collection; Bryan Bedder/Getty Images for ReedPop
Who can forget the kooky Kirk? Gunn has also continued to act, most notably in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise as Kraglin Obfonteri.
Now tell us, who is your favorite Gilmore Girls character?
