This really puts things into perspective.

In 1984, documentarian Martin “Marty” DiBergi released a film about the daily triumphs and travails of Spinal Tap, England’s loudest band. From olives with no pimientos in them to a Stonehenge of smaller than expected dimensions, This Is Spinal Tap revealed that being in a rock band isn’t just “having a good time all the time.”

Now, more than 40 years later, the world will finally see how band members David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, Derek Smalls and whoever the current drummer is have fared since the groundbreaking movie aired. See them as they reunite after a 15-year hiatus for one final concert.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues comes to theaters on September 12. Watch the first teaser trailer here:

Appearing in the long-awaited sequel are Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Also appearing will be Paul Shaffer, Fran Drescher, Don Lake, John Michael Higgins, Nina Conti, Griffin Matthews, Kerry Godliman and Chris Addison.

In 2002, This Is Spinal Tap was selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.

A nationwide U.S. theatrical release of a newly-restored edition of This Is Spinal Tap will also be coming this summer, and the film will be made widely available on digital and streaming platforms.

Bleecker Street is the U.S. distributor for both the This is Spinal Tap: 41st Anniversary theatrical rerelease and Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.
