Musician Peter Frampton shared some very exciting news on his social media: He officially has a service dog named Bigsby! Frampton announced in 2019 that he was diagnosed with inclusion body myositis (IBM). According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, IBM is a rare condition that affects the muscles. It causes them to weaken over time and can cause falls along with weak arms and legs. It is more common in men over 50.

Frampton posted a photo of himself and his black goldendoodle Bigsby online and wrote, “The graduate, Bigsby, just got his jacket and diploma. He is now my official service pup! Come fly with me Mr Bigs! No stopping us now.”

Bigsby helps support Frampton as he travels and adapts to life with IBM. They both had to undergo training in order to work well together and have gotten very close. Frampton often shares his excitement about having a service dog to not only help him deal with physical challenges but emotional ones as well.

He has shared several photos of himself and Bigsby including one of them sitting together. He wrote, “Bigs and I listening to one of my fave Gtr solos. Steve Winwood/Traffic, ‘Medicated Goo’!” It has been a long road as he shared a photo of Bigsby about a year ago and wrote, “Bigsby in the house today! He’s finishing his service dog training and now I have to catch up and learn my lines! It’ll be a weekly visit home till we are both ready for a move in date in October. The best day!! 🤗”

Peter Frampton Starts 2025 ‘Let’s Do It Again!’ Tour in March

This is perfect timing as Frampton is about to head out on a tour around the country, starting in Connecticut and ending in Las Vegas. Frampton previously thought about doing a farewell tour but has had several tours since then. The upcoming tour, titled “Let’s Do It Again!”, will go from March until June. Frampton shared, “I am so thrilled to be able to come out and play again for you. It’s been a spectacular year, looking forward to seeing everyone soon.” Get tickets on his website.

Congrats to Frampton and Bigsby!
