It has been a tough year for movie veteran Clint Eastwood. About six months ago, while working on his most recent (and possibly final) directorial effort,  Juror No. 2, Eastwood’s longtime girlfriend Christina Sandera died suddenly at the age of 61 from cardiac arrhythmia. Eastwood’s son and fellow movie star, Scott Eastwood, recently opened up about how his 94-year-old father is doing now.

“He’s good,” Scott admitted. “He’s doing good. He’s a survivor, a trooper.” At the time of Sandera’s death, Eastwood released a statement that read: “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.”

The pair reportedly met when Sandera worked as a host at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Northern California in 2014, and dated for around a decade, but kept their relationship very private. Although they were tight-lipped on their relationship, Sandera did attend several red carpet events with Eastwood over the years, most recently in 2019 for his film Richard Jewell.

At the time of her death, Eastwood’s daughter Morgan also shared her grief. She wrote, “A devastating loss for our whole family. Thank you Christina for being a good partner to my Dad. You will be missed.”

Eastwood shares eight children with six women. He was married twice: first to model Maggie Johnson from 1953-64, and later to Dina Ruiz from 1996 until 2014.
