The Hollywood Show Will Go On This Weekend! Which Celebrities Are Attending & Which Ones Canceled?
As many other events are being canceled or postponed in the Los Angeles area, one event is still going strong this weekend. The Hollywood Show will go on as scheduled for January 1-11 this weekend in Burbank, California. With many saying it should be canceled, the event organizers gave an update on why they decided to move forward with the event, and we have updates on which celebrities are still attending and who had to cancel.
The organizers shared in a lengthy Facebook post: “As we go into this weekend, we felt that we owe it to all of you to offer some clarifications on a few matters. The first being why we have not canceled the show for this weekend. This was not a decision we made lightly to proceed. We live here. We have loved ones who have had their homes destroyed in these horrible fires and we ourselves have had to keep watch regarding our own home. In the nearly two decades that we have owned The Hollywood Show, we have never been up against an obstacle like this.”
They continued to say that it is not easy to reschedule the event due to the schedules of the celebrities who attend and the fact that venues can be booked up to a year in advance. Some of the celebrity guests, including Marta Kristen and Vernon Wells, had their homes burn down but contacted the Hollywood Show organizers to say that they would still like to attend. Most of the celebrity guests have confirmed attendance, wanting to be a bright spot in this dark time.
The post added that many of the attendees have been excited about this weekend for months and have made extensive travel plans to get there. Some fans have canceled, but some have expressed that they still wish to attend if it is possible. This gave the organizers a tough decision to make and one that not everyone would be happy with either way. “That said, we want to make this as clear as we can,” they added. “This was not a profit-driven decision. In fact, in some ways we would be better off financially if we didn’t hold the show this weekend. But we are holding up on our commitment.”
