The 2024 Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony with Cher, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Ozzy & More Is Finally Coming to TV
If you’ve been waiting since October to see the speeches, award presentations, and live performances of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony, the time has finally arrived — ABC will be airing the ceremony as a three-hour special on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2025, starting at 8pm EST.
The ceremony, which occurred on Oct. 19, 2024, inducted musicians including Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Kool & The Gang, MC5 and Dionne Warwick. It was an evening of touching speeches, heart-warming tributes, and extremely rockin’ live performances, featuring both your favorite musicians and their biggest fans (who also happen to be platinum-selling rock stars)
Who Will Perform?
The heart of any Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is the live performances, featuring the living inductees as well as special guest stars. And 2024’s lineup did not disappoint.
In addition to a medley by Kool & the Gang, viewers can look forward to watching performances by Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige and Peter Frampton; Cher dueting with pop star Dua Lipa on “Believe” and tackling “If I Could Turn Back Time” as a solo number; Foreigner revisiting their greatest hits with Slash on guitar, Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith on drums, and a special assist from Sammy Hagar on “Hot Blooded;” and a Billy Idol-led tribute to Ozzy Osbourne that included Wolfgang Van Halen and Zakk Wylde, among other metal stars. 2024 inductee Dave Matthews also performed both his own material, and a tribute to 2024 inductee Jimmy Buffett, who died in 2023.
Will the Ceremony Be Available to Stream?
The ceremony originally aired live on Disney+ on Oct. 19; this will be the first network presentation of the 2024 ceremony.
And if you have New Year’s Day plans, you will be able to stream the ceremony on Hulu and Disney+, starting on Jan. 2. Either way, it will get your 2025 off to a thoroughly rockin’ start.
