The holiday season is full of marathon showings of our favorite Christmas movies — but the annual It’s a Wonderful Life marathon might be the most special. Every December, for one full day, we get to be transported to Bedford Falls, and learn all over again that no man is a failure who has friends. In a season full of TV traditions, this one might be one of the most touching.

So when can you anticipate spending some serious quality time with George, Mary, Clarence and little Zuzu? Hopefully, you’ve got your weekend free, because the It’s a Wonderful Life marathon will air this Sunday!

In the center of the image, in front of a Christmas tree, are stars James Stewart as George Bailey, who has his arm around Donna Reed, as Mary Bailey, on his right, while holding one of his daughters in his left arm. A group of townspeople are around him as they sing and celebrate.

The E! Channel will run It’s a Wonderful Life all day on Sunday, Dec. 8, beginning at 12pm EST. You can catch the movie four times that day, at 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm ET.

And if E! isn’t in your cable package, never fear: NBC will show the film at 8pm ET on Christmas Eve.

It’s a Wonderful Life was originally an enormous box office failure, one that was thought to end Frank Capra‘s career. When the film fell out of copyright in 1974, TV stations began to run it frequently during the holiday season, simply because it didn’t cost anything to air. But viewers fell in love with its simple story about the value of love, family and connection in a world focused on greed — a message that arguably became even more relevant as time went on.

Though the film is once again copyrighted, it’s still as much a Christmas staple as chestnuts roasting on an open fire. So make sure to catch a showing this holiday season!
