It was a great weekend for Simon & Garfunkel fans! Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel shared a very emotional reunion after years of being apart and not getting along. It seems they have put their feud in the past and even hope to make music together again someday. It has been over a decade since they performed together, and after years of making jabs at each other in the press, Garfunkel revealed that they are now talking in a new interview.

He explained, “I actually had lunch with Paul a couple of weeks back. First time we’d been together in many years. I looked at Paul and said, ‘What happened? Why haven’t we seen each other?’ Paul mentioned an old interview where I said some stuff. I cried when he told me how much I had hurt him.”

Thinking back to those comments, Garfunkel said, “I guess I wanted to shake up the nice guy image of Simon & Garfunkel. Y’know what? I was a fool!” The pair were childhood friends who found a love of music together. They were one of the most popular acts of the 1960s but eventually split in the late ’70s because of artistic disagreements.

Garfunkel also hinted at new music from the duo but said that they are focusing on their friendship first and the music second. He concluded, “For me, it was about wanting to make amends before it’s too late. It felt like we were back in a wonderful place. As I think about it now, tears are rolling down my cheeks. I can still feel his hug.”

Garfunkel’s son Art Jr. even spoke out about the reunion and added, “They’ve had their ups and downs over the years, but after the meeting, Dad was so happy. He called me and said, ‘Paul’s my brother; he’s family.’ I do think there is a possibility of them getting together musically. I’m speaking hypothetically here, but maybe a big TV/charity event. With a bit of encouragement from their peers in the music industry, that could lead to some new material. A new generation discovering the beautiful music they make together.”

What do you think of the possibility of Simon & Garfunkel getting back together?
