It is hard to believe that someone as outspoken as Stevie Nicks did not exercise her right to vote until just a few years ago. The 76-year-old singer admitted that she never voted in a presidential election until she was 70 years old. Now, she added that she doesn’t have many regrets in her life, but waiting so long to vote is one of them.

Nicks said that waiting in long lines was one of the reasons she avoided Election Day and shared, “You can say, ‘Oh, I didn’t have time. I was this and that.’ In the long run, you didn’t have an hour? You didn’t have an hour of your time that you could have gone and voted.”

Now, she realizes her mistake and urges others to vote during the upcoming election. She hopes that other musicians and public figures will use their platform to talk about the important causes and encourage fans to vote in the election as well.

This year, Nicks also wrote a song that relates to one of the big topics in this year’s election. “The Lighthouse” was written in 2022 but released a few months ago, and its inspiration was the fight to protect women’s rights.

This is your reminder that your last chance to vote is on Nov. 5, 2024.
