Halloween Queen Christina Ricci Releases Her Own Tarot Deck
Christina Ricci is a Halloween season icon, having starred in many spooky classics including The Addams Family, Wednesday, Sleepy Hollow, Casper , Yellowjackets, and The Lizzie Borden Chronicles. Now, the 44-year-old has taken on a new Halloween-y venture: releasing her own tarot card deck, which pays tribute to her iconic career and many of the characters she’s played.
Ricci’s new deck is called Cat Full of Spiders, and features 78 beautifully illustrated tarot cards, along with a guidebook. She said that she first encountered tarot cards when she was on the set of the film Now and Then, when her character Roberta visited a psychic. Since then, she has embraced her love for the metaphysical.

“The way you interpret the card in relation to your question has everything to do with who you are and all of your experiences — all the spiders that you’ve swallowed,” she shared. All of the cards have illustrations of Ricci as the wide range of characters she has portrayed.

“The minor arcana are all younger versions of me because all of those things have come from my subconscious and have all been expressions of some version of myself,” she continued. “That’s why there are a lot of little nods and references to characters I’ve played.”
As far as her roles go, Ricci said: “I was lucky as a young person at that time [with] where our culture was to play really interesting roles, interesting young girls and then interesting women.”

She worked with her husband Mark Hampton, California artist Felipe Flores and tarot expert Minerva Siegel to ensure the deck was everything she could have dreamed of, and hopes that fans and tarot lovers alike enjoy using them. You can purchase the deck now on Amazon.
