‘Full House’ Star Dave Coulier Talks Getting Sent Home From Kindergarten, His First Concert (You’ll Never Guess) & More
He had us at his signature catchphrase (“cut… it… out’) during his early-career hosting Nickelodeon’s original variety show Out of Control in the mid 1980s. But when Dave Coulier brought his signature style of zany comedy to his role as Joey Gladstone on the iconic family sitcom Full House, he quickly went from comedy’s best-kept secret to TV megastar. For eight years, Coulier brought silliness, cartoon character impressions, and a whole lot of heart to the Tanner household, and he brought all of that magic back for another go-around with his TV family during five years of Netflix’s Fuller House.
These days, we get to hear the real Dave chat with his former castmates on his Full House Rewind podcast, and now we get to learn even more about the good ol’ days from the man behind Joey Gladstone (not to mention “Mr. Woodchuck”) all in our Remind Flashback interview.
We flashback to his younger days where Dave talks about getting sent home from kindergarten on his first day of school (his mother was so horrified), his teen crushes (Are you Ginger or Mary Ann?), his first concert (you wouldn’t guess it if we gave you 10 tries!), favorite toy (wish we had one!), favorite album (“I had long blond hair and everybody used to call me Peter Frampton”), his favorite holiday gift ever (it does involve hockey) and an infamous high school photo that now hangs in his family’s house.
