‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ Gets New Halloween Specials in Honor of 25th Anniversary
It is hard to believe it has been 25 years since we first met our friends SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Sandy, Mr. Krabs and more. To celebrate, Nickelodeon and Paramount+ have two new specials in the works. A new spooky episode of SpongeBob SquarePants called “Kreepaway Kamp” is coming Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. In “Kreepaway Kamp,” SpongeBob and his pals reunite at Kamp Koral but soon realize they are being stalked by a mysterious figure. When campers start disappearing, it is up to SpongeBob to save the day.
Not only that, but there will also be a new special episode of The Patrick Star Show called “Something Stupid This Way Comes,” premiering on Oct. 14, 2024. The half-hour special has Madame Hagfish sharing tales of Pat-Tron, Pat the Hapless and Patgor, and features 2D and stop-motion animation. The Patrick Star Show is a spinoff series, focusing on SpongeBob’s bumbling friend Patrick and his antics. It premiered on Nickelodeon in 2021 and is currently on Season 3.
For young kids and children at heart, all new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants and The Patrick Star Show continue to air on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. Launched on July 17, 1999, SpongeBob SquarePants is still the most-watched animated series, sparking a number of spinoff shows, movies and tons of merch. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of the characters, chances are you know the catchy theme song or have seen an episode.
