Another Princess Diana Docuseries Is in the Works, Titled ‘Who Killed Diana?’
The world has always been fascinated by Princess Diana, formerly the Princess of Wales. Sadly, she was a victim of incessant paparazzi that led to her untimely death from a car accident on Aug. 31, 1997. Now, another documentary aims to explore what truly caused her death and includes never-before-seen interviews with key sources.
The new docuseries, titled Who Killed Diana?, is from EverWonder Studio, which released documentaries Depp Vs. Heard and The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe. It hopes to bring new information on the decades-old case and is teaming up with Emma Cooper’s Empress Films.
“Emma and Empress Films set a high bar for covering perplexing events through unprecedented access and premium storytelling,” said Jon Adler, head of talent and content development at EverWonder. “We both believe approach and access are everything. This new franchise will not merely revisit deaths of famous figures, it will actively drive the story forward with new voices and fresh insight into compelling and complex details.”
Diana, her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul died in the car accident after her driver was trying to get rid of the paparazzi following them in Paris. The funeral was televised on Sept. 6, 1997, and a record number of audiences around the world watched on that sad day.
“Exploring legendary women through investigative journalistic documentaries is a passion of mine,” added Emma Cooper. “Just as we did with The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe, we’ve taken a story the world thought it knew and uncovered hidden truths. I am committed to approaching this beloved and iconic woman’s story with fresh perspectives, new voices, and previously untold information. I couldn’t have asked for better partners than Ian, Jon and the entire EverWonder team, who have become true collaborators.”
